Volume 5 Article informations GRAND-BASSAM: A FRAGILE IVORY TOURISM POLE BRENOUM KOUAKOU DAVID Abstract Abstract-Grand-Bassam was the first capital of Ivory Coast, with the vestiges of its France neighborhood, of colonial architecture, inscribed on the World Heritage list of UNESCO in june 2012. It is also a seaside resort with many hotels and restaurants people rush every weekend. Its cultural riches are also undeniable: craft village, traditional festival of Abissa, etc. But this second destination of attraction of the country is confronted with coastal erosion, insalubrity, insecurity (jihadist attack), exposing its fragility and its problems of governance. This table highlights the need to question its ability to be a major tourist destination. To achieve the literature search, the observation, inventory and survey were used.
